Avid-certified instructor Christopher Phrommayon discussed how to make the editing process faster and more efficient.

Christopher Phrommayon is an Avid- and Apple-certified instructor with a background in film and video production, media studies, and computing in the arts (BA Communication, UC San Diego; MFA Film, Video, and New Media, School of the Art Institute of Chicago). He has been a video editor, a cameraman, a web animator, a digital media consultant, and a technician. His independent audio and video productions have been seen internationally. Chris is co-author of "Avid Xpress Pro and DV on the Spot." In addition to speaking at national media conferences such as the Los Angeles DV Shows and the Avid Government Training Symposium, Chris has worked as a speaker and technical chair for the DigitalMediaDC Conference and the NAB Post|Production World Conference.

Chris teaches Avid Media Composer, DVD Studio Pro, Shake, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, and Boris Red for Future Media Concepts in Boston.


8:00 pm - 8:30 pm | DTE Workflow for Avid, Part 2
Filmmakers Daniel Berube and Donald Berube of noisybrain. Productions, LLC were back with Gordon Bates of Focus Enhancements for a hands-on review of the DTE (Direct-to-Edit) workflow for Avid. DTE Technology merges acquisition and capturing by recording in edit-ready Avid DV-OMF and other NLE native formats, eliminating the digitizing process and offering unique logging features on-camera. The three will answer questions and have on-hand professional broadcast DV camcorder solutions featuring the Focus Enhancements FireStore FS-3, DR-DV5000 and new FS-4 DTE Recorders. Daniel and Donald will also screen clips form a DTE Avid workflow end-user interview with Ed Krasnow, Assist. Director of the Television and Radio Center at Massasoit Community College.
