WORKFLOW AND AVX PLUG-INS
Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University
282 Moody Street
Waltham, Mass 02453

Schedule of Events:
6:30pm - 7:00pm | Registration & Networking

7:00pm - 8:00pm | Avid Workflow - Automatic Duck
Wes Plate is a former creative editor who cut on Avid to create award-winning regional and national commercials. During his editing career, Wes became very adept at using Photoshop and After Effects together with his Media Composer. At the time, the workflow was innovative and new, still fraught with complexities when moving back and forth. Seeing that interchange between different products was becoming more and more vital, Wes founded Automatic Duck, a company that creates plug-ins for translating timeline information between the industry's most popular desktop video applications.

Wes demonstrated some of the tools Automatic Duck has available for Avid users, including solutions for interchanging with Adobe After Effects, Discreet combustion and Apple Final Cut Pro. This presentation was videotaped.

8:00pm - 9:00pm | AVX Plug-ins - Sapphire
Gary Oberbrunner is VP of Engineering at GenArts Inc., makers of Sapphire Plug-ins. He has been involved in graphics and visualization since the 1980s, when he developed supercomputing visualization software. At GenArts, Gary is principally responsible for the continued development of Sapphire Plug-ins.

Widely recognized for their unrivaled image quality and unique organic look, Sapphire Plug-ins are a powerful extension to Avid AVX products. Gary demoed a sampling of the 193 image processing and synthesis effects contained in the package, and showed how multiple parameters for each effect can be manipulated to create an unlimited range of results. This presentation was videotaped.

9:00pm  |  Door Prize Raffle
