BAVUG June Meeting

Wednesday, June 13, 2007
WGBH FRONTLINE OutPost
10 Guest Street
Brighton, MA

The first program, "The Mormons", a four-hour special co-produced for FRONTLINE and AMERICAN EXPERIENCE began production as a standard definition program and evolved into a high definition release. The sources originated on a great variety of formats, frame rates, and aspect ratios. Major mistakes were made in the production cycle and we will go over those and how we managed it with Jim Ferguson, Frontline online editor and colorist.

The second, "EndGame", is a FRONTLINE that will be airing the week after the meeting on June 19th. We will provide a sneak peek of the program and go over it's more traditional HD workflow and the After Effects graphics creation with Steve Audette, Frontline Senior Editor.

The third, Frontline World, is shot almost exclusively on HDV with SD segments upconverted. We will review the program packaging and Boris HD graphics workflow on this project with Frontline designer/editor John MacGibbon (the sizzle guy).
