7:00pm - 8:00pm | Slippin' and Slidin': Trim Tool Techniques
3D effects! Plug-ins! and Multiple resolutions in the timeline! These make great marketing bullets for Avid software products. But the real workhorse of the Avid editing interface is its powerful Trim Mode. Do you know the difference between slipping and sliding in the timeline? How can sync locks help you - and hurt you? Why do those track selector buttons move on their own? Come hear Julie Kahn, Avid's first certified instructor, demystify the secrets of Trim Mode at the next BAVUG meeting.
For nearly 20 years, Julie Kahn has edited nationally-broadcast television productions for networks including PBS, ABC, NBC, the Discovery Channel, Lifetime, and Animal Planet. Her portfolio includes several series, hour-long and half-hour programs as well as film and documentaries. Nominated twice for an Emmy award for her work on the PBS series "Zoom", other productions Julie has worked on have earned a New England Emmy, a Peabody Award and several film festival awards. She was one of the first Avid editors - working on Avid #15 and beta-testing version 2.0 - and was the first Avid Certified Instructor. Julie lives in Watertown and is currently working on her own documentary film about a small farm in England.
