Andy Liebman, Founder and CEO of EditShare - An award winning documentary filmmaker, Andy Liebman founded EditShare in
2004. Based in Boston, EditShare develops shared storage, production asset management, NLEs, playout and archive systems for the digital media
market. Used by independent/feature filmmakers, videographers and broadcast engineers, Editshare technology powers production workflows for
thousands of professionals daily. Andy will present EditShare's end-to-end production asset management workflow using the recent South Pacific
Pictures studio installation as a case study. South Pacific implemented ES production asset management and media sharing solutions integrating -
ingest, editing, storage, playout, archive. The fully tapeless and connected workflow reduced a sizeable amount of studio equipment and near
eliminated the need for tapes. It also makes transparent the complexities of media conversions and working with multiple formats - allowing media
to be effortlessly shared between workgroups and departments. Pre-editing tasks such as logging and shot selection as well as proxy viewing are
done on standard desktop systems, streamlining the entire ingest, edit and review process. The tiered storage system connects archives into the
main production chain, increasing the repurposing and ultimately the value the archives.
