Monitoring DV Audio while Recording with Mojo and Digi 002 Connected

When setup to capture DV audio from a DV device that is connected to the Avid Mojo, the Avid Xpress Pro application does not automatically play audio pass-through while you monitor the input. Avid recommends the following steps be taken to listen to audio through the Digi 002 while recording through the Avid Mojo:

  • Plug the camera analog outputs to Alt Src inputs of the Digi 002.
  • Click the ?Alt Src to Mon? button near the top of the Digi 002 to direct that source to the monitor output of the Digi 002.
Note that these steps are only necessary when recording DV audio from a DV device plugged into the Avid Mojo. Audio pass-through works with any other audio source connected to the Digi 002.

Digidesign Pro Tools tip: Using Color to Organize Your Session

Using the color coding enhancements in Pro Tools 6.7 is a great way to visualize song structure (i.e. Intro, Verse, Chorus, etc.) within your session. To enable these color coding settings, choose Setups > Preferences and click on the Display tab. By setting the Default Region Color Coding to Marker Locations, all regions that start on or after a Memory Location will be colored the same default color (regardless of track) until the following marker. When placing a memory location, be sure to select Marker in the Time Properties section of the Memory Location window.
